So much has happened in the last week + that I must record like a timeline:

10/1-Daryl Arrives in the U.S.
I was standing in Target trying to decide between new duvet covers when my phone rang. It was Daryl! He had safely arrived on our shores via Newark Airport and said, "I never thought I would say this, but I'm an immigrant." It seemed totally appropriate that I was in Target for this call.

10/2-Shannon and Daryl drive to Our Nation's Capital to meet up with San Francisco's Sassiest Lady for a whirlwind reunion. Drive to DC was--as usual--a total nightmare, however, a highlight was Daryl asking me if we were going the right way as the Washington Monument hovered in the distance. It was all worth it so that our car-lagged selves could meet up with the jet-lagged Henriette for a night of crazy PC (pop culture, people) banter and complaints about DC.

10/3-10/7: Daryl acclimates to his new life in the New World by renting "Arrested Development" "Mr. Show" and watching "Everybody Loves Raymond." Shannon stresses out about driving Instrument Makers from the National Folk Festival all over the boonies of Virginia so that lucky children can experience folk music. Luckily, i got the steel drum maker who was super cool and has even played with Bruce Springsteen.

10/8: Attended National Folk Festival. Highlight: Kick ass mariachi band from Los Angeles and crazy man behind me who sang along with the band though he 1) didn't speak Spanish and 2)sang with a time delay because he didn't know the words. LowLight: Rain, missing the Flea Circus presentation, dorky neo-hippie lady knitting during the performance and bass player who looked and acted like a turtle on stage.

10/9: Went on insane organizing kick involving closet organizers, coat hooks and cleaning out the swamp of everything that is my closet. Highlight: Watching "Entourage." Kevin Dillon is the saddest clown ever, and I predict Jeremy Piven will get an Emmy. Best. Agent. Ever.

Yeserday/Today: Feeling semi-organized and ready to move on with my life. PC Lowlight--Ben Affleck moving to Charlottesville and possibly running for Senate.
